The second General Assembly was held 17 and 18 October 2024 in Regensburg, Germany and hosted by our partner AVL-SFR. On the first day, the GA focused on the initial results pertaining to advancing modelling features and how to manage data collection, presented by UL and AVL respectively. The second day was reserved for a dedicated breakout session on the E/E architecture and how to integrate the BMS and battery pack in the demonstrator vehicles. The second day finished with discussions that led to agreements between partners that will ensure close collaboration in the upcoming months.
On the first day, Thursday 17 October 2024, the first cluster workshop was also organized between InnoBMS and NEXTBMS (another BMS project). Sharing some of the same partners, the workshop was a great opportunity to align the projects. The workshop began with brief presentations by the project coordinators from AIT and VUB, highlighting the synergies between the projects and their focus on next-generation BMS. They discussed how these advancements will shape the future of battery management systems and, in turn, influence the development of batteries for both electric vehicles and energy storage applications. After two dedicated presentations from each project (on the cell testing from the NEXTBMS and E/E architecture from InnoBMS) a good plenary discussion took place between the partners on how to exchange information between the two projects to strengthen the achievement of the end results without compromising confidentiality. Additionally discussed was how the synergy between the two projects will improve the exploitation of results, both in sense of technology but also new collaborative projects.
