I completed my PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Hacettepe University. Throughout my career, I have worked in the renewable energy, agricultural, and automotive industries. In 2024, I joined Potenza Technology as a Hardware Manager.
Previously, I focused on the automotive industry, specifically in the drivetrain sector, where I designed and developed on-board chargers and bidirectional DC/DC battery chargers. Currently, I am responsible for developing battery management systems, which include electrical components such as battery disconnect units, VOC sensors, and high-voltage connectors.
What was your original motivation to become a researcher/project manager?
My motivation to become a researcher comes from my curiosity about the theoretical aspects of principles and how they can be applied in practice. Over the years, I’ve gained solid hands-on experience, allowing me to merge theory with real-world implementation. This led me to focus on zero-carbon technologies, especially in the renewable energy and EV electrification sectors. I’ve worked closely with industry partners to bridge the gap between academic research and practical solutions. As a researcher, I aim to drive sustainable advancements and contribute to meaningful change in these areas.
What is your (main) research area today?
My primary research area today focuses on developing future-proof battery management systems. This includes work on predictive diagnostics, maintenance of battery cells, optimized balancing circuits, smart sensor technologies, and integrated cell monitoring circuits.
What is the main focus of your team in InnoBMS?
Our team’s main focus is developing the BMS controller, which acts as the main interface between the cell monitoring board (CMB) via the wireless network manager, as well as external sensors such as smoke and current, and the edge ECU.
Could you describe your favourite moment/satisfaction when working for the project and – more in general – for your organisation?
Collaborating with experts from various fields to achieve a common goal is an incredibly enjoyable experience. My favourite moments occur when we face an obstacle that could impede the project, and we quickly take action to develop a solution, gaining valuable experience along the way. Being part of Potenza Technology and contributing to innovative battery technologies while sharing our expertise is truly rewarding.
How do you expect InnoBMS results will affect your organisation and the battery sector?
The InnoBMS results will significantly enhance battery efficiency, reliability, and safety, strengthening Potenza Technology’s leadership in BMS. Through collaboration with other InnoBMS partners, we are combining expertise to drive innovation and advance sustainable, high-performance energy solutions that will benefit both our organization and the broader battery sector.
