Ashleigh Hruz is a project manager at VUB supporting the EPOWERS Research Group. In this role she follows the whole project lifecycle from the proposal writing stage to progress monitoring and reporting. In InnoBMS she is active in work package 7.
What was your original motivation to become a researcher/project manager?
My motivation to become an administrative project manager comes from the fulfillment I feel when coordinating teams, managing resources effectively, and bringing ideas to life.
What is your (main) research area today?
Although I am not a technical researcher, I take great pride in being part of the EPOWERS Research Group at VUB. In InnoBMS I focus on the administrative aspects to help bring the visions of Prof. Hegazy and Dr. Chakraborty to life.
What is the main focus of your team in InnoBMS?
VUB-EPOWERS group will contribute to the achievement of all technical objectives. Of special note, EPOWERS will address the infrastructure requirements virtual demonstration by providing access to the Powertrain Innovation Lab (PIL) is fully equipped (power, control, data management, cooling) e-axle of in-wheel-motor test rig connected to an IoT system with Digital Twin of vehicle drivetrains that can be used to emulate behaviour of any powertrain.
Could you describe your favourite moment/satisfaction when working for the project and – more in general – for your organisation?
I worked at the VUB for four years prior to joining the EPOWERS Research Group. Becoming a project manager for EPOWERS, specifically, has brought me great professional satisfaction; I now have a direct impact and contribution to the important work the group is doing.
How do you expect InnoBMS results will affect your organisation and the battery sector?
InnoBMS will allow VUB-EPOWERS to delve deeper into the understanding of innovative SoH-aware cell balancing, novel battery pre-conditioning functionalities, and improved OVPP framework, providing more value to research and clients for accelerating the development time by reducing testing time and effort.
